
Morocco's autonomy project important
Moroccan project to grant a large autonomy to the southern provinces is an "important" proposal, deemed, here Monday, President of the parliamentary assembly of the Francophonie (APF), Bernard Patry.
At a press conference at the end of the 32nd session of the parliamentary assembly of the Francophonie, Patry affirmed that a solution to the Sahara issue "goes mainly through dialogue."
Through the actions undertaken by the king, "notably the latest proposal granting a large autonomy" to these provinces, "we are on the good path," he underlined.
The three-decade long Sahara conflict, will be settled through negotiations within the framework of the United Nations, he said, underlining the need to inform the families on the destiny of their relatives disappeared in Tindouf.
The 32nd session of the parliamentary assembly of the Francophonie wrapped up its works on Monday by adopting several recommendations to ratify the international and regional conventions on individuals’ rights and promote and protect cultural diversity and international trade negotiations.
The session also adopted a draft resolution on Palestine, wherein it decries the acts of aggression against civilians, of all sides, and the arrest of Palestinian cabinet members and MPs, calling for their immediate and unconditional release.
